I am a giver from way back. I like to give. It comes naturally to me and makes me feel good. Being at the receiving end of things does not come so naturally to me, but I'm better at it than I used to be.
The longer I live, the more I realize that life happens "in exchange"- the exchange of energy, love, kindness, support, money, time, conversation... Everything is an exchange. And I can't stop the flow of energy one direction or the other. It's not natural to do so. I have to make allowances for the currents running both ways.
I love to give, but sometimes I have to allow others to give to me. Life in balance happens both ways.
