"O Radiant Dark!
Thou hast a joy too deep for shallow Day."
~George Eliot~
People sometimes refer to extremely late night or early morning hours as being "ungodly," but the truth is that they are not. I take a walk with our dog, Boss, every morning at 4am and it is exquisitely beautiful. I see the moon and stars and sometimes falling stars. The air is always fresh that time of day, even in the summer, and the earth is quiet. Roosters and people are still asleep and the road we walk is free from cars.
Being awake and walking about at this hour is ungodly in no way. It is full of silence and starlight and spirit beyond measure.
I appreciate the gifts of every hour of the 24.
