As a general rule, we're not good listeners. We troll people's commentary like we're speed reading a book- grabbing onto words for understanding and getting the gist, but being utterly unaware of the subtleties and the rich content.
     And we respond, not by actually responding, but by grandstanding all over the few words we've picked up. This all-too-popular style of communication rather misses the point of communication at all, and doesn't make for much of an exchange.
